Current Events
1. The young man in the picture is Matt La Porte and he was one of the victims of the Virgina Tech shooting.
2. The author of the article is Barbara La Porte and she is the mother of Matt.
3. He was killed in the shooting April 16th on the campus of Virgina Tech.
4. We feel very bad because of what happened to the boy she razed and was killed just like that.
5. I sometimes find myself saying “what if” just like “what if it was me instead of her.” I think back of how it would affect my family and then it clicks and I snap out of it.
6. It is still a touching thing because of how she would want to be apart of the circle of forgiveness.
7. When the author says “What’s the chance that this is going to affect me,” it is interesting how she would have confidence in God like that. The second thing would have to be when she talks about the scriptures.
8. My overall feeling about this article is sadness because how a mother can loss a child like that and would be able to come out and express he feelings like that. To me that shows a lot because she had no fear in saying what she wants about what happened to her son that April 16th morning.
